Fabric Lace book - Round robin

I am currently creating pages for a Round Robin
Vintage Fabric Lacebook collaborative
with 5 other women all within the U.S.
and myself, here in Australia.

The Themes include:
A Stitch in Time
A Young Woman in Paris
Victorian Couples
Mary Madonna
The Jazz Era of the 1920s
and
Vintage Gypsy

The requirements for this Lacebook include:
Front and Back covers
Inside covers and Two extra pages
which will be passed around on a rotation basis to each person.

My pages have already now left for Palm Springs and as my theme is
"Vintage Gypsy"
I thought I might share my contribution:

And my two Separate Pages within the book

The Round Robin Fabric Lacebooks will be with each person for one month
so I am hoping that
I shall receive my "Vintage Gypsies" back here in about
6 months time
when I will assemble all the pages and covers etc.
for you to peruse!

It is so lovely to see so many new comers to my blog
and I thank you so much for all your kind words
and thoughts
and I wish you
much inspiration to share with others!

"For every love there is a Heart somewhere to receive it!"

With this little quote in mind
I decided to  make these
art hearts
for
someone out there
to receive them

They say that
"Love is in the air"
with

Valentine's Day
approaching

but, to me, love is always in the air.

These hearts which measure approx. 9"x6"
are now in my Etsy shop

So if you love hearts (any at all!)

and vintage lace, vintage webbing, twine,

vintage buttons, brooches,

seam binding, tulle

and pre-raphaelite images
then you just might like these!

Thank you to all of my new followers and old ones too
for appreciating my artwork
and for the very kind comments you have taken the time
to leave.

"Cherish" is to hold close to heart.
and I cherish you all!

Have a wonderful week!

Some Little Shabby Felted Books

Thought I might share some new little felted books
I have been creating.
The first two have been ordered by two separate
Karens:

This one -

and this one for the second Karen

I also have an extra felted and collaged book for sale
if anyone is interested.

This book is made using an image from Dawn at

Dawn has some of the most beautiful images for free
download to use in your projects - thank you again for sharing
these with us!

This little booklet measuring 6.5" x 9.5" has been embellished
with several layers of lace, new and vintage, French applique,

guipure lace, lace motifs, chiffon and buttons.

and, naturally some recycled and pin-tucked cotton.

Each page has been embellished with laces, tuile and trims.

It could be used as a keepsake for those favourite fabric samples,
precious broches, pins and needles or anything you
treasure enough to keep in it -
even special thoughts and sayings!
such as this one

Contact me by email at
suziqu@tpg.com.au
if you are interested.

"There is always, always, always something to be thankful for"
.........unknown!

Thank you all so very much for continuing to visit here
and leave such inspiring and kind
comments.

Journalling in the New Year

A brand New Year brings with it -
fresh new ideas and aspirations,
new hopes and dreams,
goals to achieve
and
new pages to turn in the journal of our lives
and
speaking of pages to turn
I want to share this most exquisite and treasured gift
of a fabric and lace journal

from a very dear and talented blogging friend
in Holland, named, Yvonne,

Yvonne, like me, is addicted to her sewing machine,
laces, fabrics, art paper etc.
and has magic in her fingers
and
I just wanted to share some of the 22 beautiful pages
in her journal here.

Pockets with pearls and
tiny tags of birds and nests

embroidered birds, fabric labels,
buttons, lace (new and vintage) sheer fabrics,
rose cotton fabrics, doilies, a bird's nest fashioned from fleece with
eggs of pearls, vintage hankerchiefs
and so very much more that
I think I will let the pages do the talking.

This "Bird" Journal is nothing short of breathtaking -
every single page!

What makes this even more precious to me is the fact that
nothing is physically easy for Yvonne
and these special projects
take many weeks to create
so
the very least I can say is

"Thank you so much Yvonne for the heartfelt hours
you have so lovingly given to creating this
masterpiece - I will really treasure it and keep it safe!"

I have a few more gifts to share but will leave for another
post when I will also share some of my new
artwork in progress.

Wishing for you all a most promising year full of
inspirational creativity to enjoy
and
share with everyone!

Thank you always for your gorgeous comments - they are
so appreciated.

Love and hugs,
Suzy xxx
