Another Shabby Heart ....no less!

Hello Dear Friends!
As a new week is about to begin
I felt I would like to just thank you all for your continued support
in leaving sweet comments for me.
I want to also wish a warm welcome to all my new followers.
Thanks for coming along with me!

♥♥♥
I was so enjoying Valentine's Day and visiting so many
blogs and viewing so many gorgeous hearts
that I decided to make just one more!

I found this so beautiful image on Dawn's blog
www.the-feathered-nest.blogspot.com
and thought I would like to incorporate it into

another shabby chic heart.

Isn't this image so beautiful?

I hope I have done her justice!

Thank you so much Dawn for continuing to share
so many amazing images from your collection!

♥♥♥

This next image is a gift that I won through

from Shannah
Aren't these so clever? Thank you dear blogging friend!

Shannah creates a lot of her own patterns for her own
clothing along with many other craft projects.
So go visit her blog!

♥♥♥

These beautifully crocheted little flutter byes
arrived in the mail from Karen of

aren't they so very tiny and delicate!
Thank you so much Karen - just love these and
can't wait to use them!
(sorry about the poor lighting!).

Now I have just celebrated another Birthday.  I'm only letting
you know because I have some lovely gifts to share
with you all next.

Hope your days are filled with joy and
your nights with blissful sleep!

Sending love to you all,

♥My Valentine's Hearts to You♥

"A hundred Hearts would be too few
to carry all my love for you"!
so I will share just a few
with you!

Some of these have been created by me

others have been gifted.

and this is a very recent one
I have created almost
entirely from
vintage laces and velvet

old cut lace linen and key

a vintage burnished silver button

a tasselled fringe of dyed mohair,  dyed scrim and old lace
and

decorated with some white ribbon
using double feather stitch.

But what each of these has in common is the little word
called Love
and that is what this message
comes with.

♥♥♥
To all of you who just love creating hearts
to be used in so many different ways
go to visit Nancy at
www.sugarlumpstudios.com
where she is running a most inspirational
14-day tutorial on creating with
Hearts!

♥♥♥

I'll be linking this post up with
Blissful White Wednesday at www.timewashed.com

♥♥♥

Thank you so kindly for visiting
here and for your always
 inspiring comments.
I hope you will be showered with
lots of love and many
surprises too!

All Dressed Up and Somewhere to Go are My Fabric and Paper Dolls

I have quite recently had the chance to dive into
my stash of luscious fabrics to create
some more
Fabric and Paper Dolls

The first two dolls were commissioned from a woman
who loves fairies

so I gave this one wings to fly

if she wanted to.
I used some silk ribbon to wrap around her skirt

which are in shades of greens, lilacs and golds
in laces, lace fabrics, chiffon, silk and scrim.

and embellished in flowers, my dyed lace,
buttons and beads.

This doll is more a Fairy Queen

a

and for her dress I used varying shades
of mauves, lilacs in laces, burnout velvet
and chiffon.

This third piece was included in a gift for a dear
blogging friend and I used some
sage green guipure lace, layers of white and brown chiffon,
dyed lace, scrim and pink sari ribbon with
antique lace.

She is more a gypsy girl!
Just a bit of a tattered and torn look

adorned in gold earings.
My inspiration for creating these came from Lilla
so go and check out her wonderful blog where
she shares many of her tutorials and images at

There was quite a bit of interest expressed in my
"Dancing Fairies" Lacebook on my last post
emailed me these lovely images of an
Arthur Rackham image which she used in a quilt she made.

so thought I would share these with you also!

Joelle has such a wonderful blog displaying the
works of many renowned artists
particularly of the 18th and 19th centuary.

Isn't this mini quilt appliqued so beautifully

on silk!

And
I have created another Arthur Rackham piece which was
a request from a customer who really enjoyed the
Giveaway Collage for the GYB Party

And this one has also gone to live with
its new owner.

Thank you everyone who left such kind comments
on my "Dancing Fairies" Lacebook
and
I would also like to thank all my new followers
here who enjoy my creations enough
to join the ride.

Hope everyone this time of year is able to enjoy the beautiful
sunshine (even briefly) enough to put a smile on your face.

Hugs, Suzy xxx

"Dancing Fairies" Lacebook
has just been completed by me for
a special customer who requested a journal with fairies

My inspiration for this came from the most amazing
illustrator of children's books,
Arthur Rackham (1867-1939)

Layer upon layer of chiffon frame
ethereal images combined with

some vintage lace collars

binding with ribbon

and some coffee coloured guipure lace

with recycled lace beauty, silk organza

and printed chiffon surrounds this fairy
in this spread

arriving "home by dawn" adjacent to a pocket of a lace
handkerchief.

Printed and embellished silk pages

edged with laces capturing the light as the
sun shines through
and

adorned with more lace fabric walks
a fairy princess.

These gentle words close another book away from our world of
reality (we all know there are many others!).

This lacebook contains around 100 pieces of beautiful
lace and soft silk and other fabric pieces
layered upon layer!

Accompanying this lacebook will be this vintage
style pincushion

where I have incorporated some vintage lace
and embroidered handkerchief

with machine stitching.

Thank you sincerely to all those expressing concern
over our recent brush with the bush fires here
where we live on the far south coast of
Australia
we have since been blessed with some
beautiful rain which has
put our hearts and minds at peace
(for the time being anyway!).

We still have roses to pick but many like these have been
scorched and singed by the feirce heat (50degC)
on the day of the bush fire
and then damaged by rain!
but we are still here
to see it!

♥♥♥ Love and hugs to all
xxx Suzy
